Ebony is the part of a tree that is dark and sometimes even black. Ivory is the white material found
in the tusks (ניבים) of elephants. In a well known music video clip, Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder
play the piano together and sing a song called "Ebony and Ivory".
Here are the lyrics of the song:

 Paul McCartney is a famous musician, who was part of The Beatles, the well known British band. After leaving The Beatles, Paul McCartney started a very successful solo career. He is a great supporter of vegetarianism, in other words he believes that people shouldn't eat meat. He loves animals and he also loves people. He thinks that people can live together in peace if they respect one another.  |

Stevie Wonder is an American singer and song-writer. He is one of the most famous musicians in the world; even though he has been blind his whole life. The fact that he hasn't let his blindness keep him from being successful is an inspiration to millions of people around the world, especially to black people, who consider him to be a role model. Like Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder also supports civil rights and believes that people should live together in peace.

The song "Ebony and Ivory" was written about the belief that different people, for instance white people and black people, can live  together in peace and harmony. In the song, the musicians ask a very simple question: If the black keys on the piano (ebony) and the white keys on the piano (ivory) can live together, why can't we live together. Paul McCartney (white) and Stevie Wonder (black), sitting on the same chair in front of the piano, also symbolize this belief. |

אני בדיוק עכשיו אחרי בגרות בע"פ באנגלית, חוזרת לביתי עייפה ומותשת... נשברו לי השיניים מלדבר באנגלית,זהו השפה התחילה לעצבן אותי!
ואז אני יושבת בחדרי מול המחשב וקוראת מיילים חדשים. פתאום אני רואה כתובת דוא"ל לא מוכר. אני פותחת, ומתגלה מול עיניי לא פחות ולא יותר מבחנון באנגלית מאת אינגליש און ליין,"יופי,זה מה שחסר לי עכשיו"-חושבת לעצמי, קצת התעצבנתי ואז אמרתי "בואי,פתחי ותראי, מה יכול להיות?"... קראתי, פתרתי ופשוט נ-ה-נ-ת-י..
אני לא יודעת ממה, רק פשוט אמרתי לעצמי וואוו זו הדרך ללמוד אנגלית!!!
